This 2 oz Biodegradable Stand Up Pouch is a certified-- 100% Biodegradable & Compostable packaging! That means you will be helping the environment by creating less waste!

This bag is made of 3 layers -- Paper, Metalized PLA, & PLA. The Metalized PLA layer will provide high-barrier protection from oxygen and moisture. This bag includes a zipper that is also 100% Biodegradable & Compostable!

Grate product, good quality, perfect size for 10-15g loose leaf tea. Biodegradable bags should be the only bags to use if we care about our kids lives on this planet.

WARNING: ZIPPER GETS RIPPED AWAY!!

I've been a customer of Sav-on Bag's pouches for almost two years for now, but this is my first time trying out their biodegradable pouches in our effort to be more environmentally friendly. I really should have took the caution that Jen (a previous reviewer) noted: "the zipper can get ripped away from the bag it self if you just open it from the top of the bag." >> This is so true!! It happened for 20% of our order (not just 3% or so, which would have been more of an acceptable rate of defect). Also, I am also worried than even the 80% we already used and are in customers' hands that the zipper would rip away.... I contacted the customer support 3 times the last 10 days, and they ignored all of my emails. Had they responded to my request (i.e. replacing those 20% with regular pouches that we usually order), I would not have written this review as I typically do not like to write any negative reviews for my purchases. But when it's not just the quality issue, but also a customer support issue with no response, I feel obliged to let others know before purchasing.

Biodegradable Stand-Up pouches

I wasn't sure what to expect with these pouches and they turned out to be great. They stand up despite its appearance. If you stuff too much in there though, the pouch gets wrinkles when you close it and its hard to have the label stick. So make sure you aren't going to jam pack your herbs in this.

Zipper cracks or breaks away from bag

Although at first it seemed these bags were perfect for our tea packaging needs, we noticed that a fairly large percentage of the bags zippers were cracking and breaking away from the inside of the bag, and even dropping little bits of debris. Similar to Ashley's review from NYC, I had a pretty sub par experience with the customer service. All they said was the bags have an expiration date, but when I asked why that wasn't product page they never responded. I would probably steer clear of these bags.

Theyre ok

I don't hate them. They are a decent biodegradable option. My main complaints are some of the zippers come unstuck, which results in them being thrown away. And the material is a very sensitive. I fill mine with powders and if you get any powder on the packaging, it stains it. They also kind of crinkle and crease when opening them, so they Never look as good once you fill them as they do before you fill them. But they aren't terrible. Im debating buying them again

Operations, Cintamani Tonics

These are just the bags we needed for our powdered extracts ~ they are light and air tight, with a zipper seal that reseals time and time again. I have noticed the zipper can get ripped away from the bag itself if you just open it from the top of the bag. So use caution when opening... open carefully & separate the zipper from the inside with your fingers. I would give these bags a 5 star rating, all except for the durability issues, which are ultimately to-be-expected from a bio bag. On the whole, I accept the slight trade-off in durability for the compostability. I wish all single-use plastics were naturally biodegradable, as we all know these things are single-use bags & are going to the trash heap eventually. Might as well be responsible about it. ;)
